Diagnostics

BLAZE provides a diagnostics feature for obtaining technical support when system issues occur. Diagnostics reports include logs, system details, device lists, and network configuration, all saved as a single compressed file. A dump file captures system information at the time of an abnormal termination.

Note: Only users with the Administrator role can access the diagnostics feature.

To generate a diagnostics report

  1. On the Home page, click Health monitoring.
  2. In the Health monitoring tab, click Diagnostics.
  3. In the Diagnostics report section, click Download.
  4. In the Download diagnostics report window, under Date, select the start and end dates for the debug log collection period. The minimum range is 1 day. Log files are stored by file size rather than by date, so data outside the selected range may be included to ensure complete coverage.
  5. Under Source, select the items to include in the diagnostics report.
    • Client: Collects diagnostic information for the currently active client only.
    • Server: Lists all servers in the current system. Select the servers to include. Logs from cloud-connected servers are also collected.
  6. Click Browse... to select the save location for the diagnostics report.
    • The collected files are compressed in ZIP format.
  7. Click Download.

Diagnostics report information

The diagnostics report includes the following information:

  • Environment information: OS version, network card status and settings, disk status, and the current date and time
  • VMS information: Version, installation path and files, license details, configuration files, and debug logs
  • Camera information: Model, firmware version, app version, connection status, current settings (including network, event, image options, etc.), and system and event logs

To download dump files

A dump file is a file that automatically saves the memory state and execution information at the moment an error occurs in a program or system.

  1. On the Home page, click Health monitoring.
  2. In the Health monitoring tab, click Diagnostics.
  3. In the Dump files section, click Download.
  4. In the Download dump file window, select the source.
    • Client: Collects dump files generated by the currently running client.
    • Server: Lists dump files stored on all servers in the current system. Select specific dump files to include.
  5. Click Browse... to select the save location.
    • The collected files are compressed in ZIP format.
  6. Click Download.

To set the log level

Configure how debug logs are saved to manage storage usage. The default log level is Info.

Note: Only users with the Administrator role can access the diagnostics feature.
  1. On the Home page, click Health monitoring.
  2. In the Health monitoring tab, click Diagnostics.
  3. In the Log level section, click Settings.
  4. In the Log level settings window, select the client or server to configure.
  5. Select a log level for the chosen client or server from the options below.
Note: Selecting a level of Debug or higher will display the following message: "Increasing log level may affect performance and storage. Restore it to [Info] after collecting logs."
    • Trace: Records all detailed internal operational information.
    • Debug: Records detailed debugging information for diagnosing the cause of a problem.
    • Info (recommended): Records major system operational events and all important information. This is the recommended option.
    • Warning: Records anomalies that could lead to issues, as well as critical errors.
    • Error: Records error logs generated by the program.
    • Disabled (not recommended): Disables all logging, which saves disk space. This option is not recommended.
  6. Click OK. The new setting is applied immediately without requiring a system restart.
