Managing audio clips
When an event occurs, the server receives and stores the audio clip captured by the device. Users can play audio clips to determine whether an abnormal situation occurred.
Note: An audio clip is saved only when a license is activated for the channel and the event is defined as a trigger in an event rule.
Playing and checking audio clips
- The supported codec formats are WAV and MP3.
- If the audio clip is still being downloaded or cannot be retrieved due to a network error or another issue, a message indicating that the audio clip is unavailable is displayed.
Downloading audio clips
- Only users who have access to the device and the View archive > Video metadata > Events permission can download audio clips.
- You can specify the file name and save location. The default file name format is {Channel name} yyyy-MM-dd at hh.mm.ss ({Event type}).wav or {Channel name} yyyy-MM-dd at hh.mm.ss ({Event type}).mp3.
- You can check the download progress in the Export tray.
- Downloaded audio files are saved in their original format in the Audio folder under the default export path and can be viewed in the Files panel. (To access the Files panel, click View on the Home page, then click Files on the navigation bar in the View tab.)
- Options such as specifying a time range, converting the file format, or applying security settings (such as digital signatures and password protection) are not supported.
Note: If an event log is deleted, its associated audio clip is also removed from the system.
