Creating an event rule

Configure rules for vehicle detection and license plate detection.

To create an event rule

  1. On the Home page, click Settings.
  2. Click Rules > Add rule. Enter the event rule name in the text box at the top of the Rules page.
  3. Under When, click Add event and select Vehicle detection.
  4. Click Select devices. Only devices that support vehicle detection are displayed; select the desired device.
  5. In the Select devices dialog, configure the following options, then click Select.
    • Type: Select the vehicle types to detect (car, bus, truck, SUV, passenger van, pickup, bike). Multiple selections are allowed.
    • Color: Select the vehicle colors to detect. Multiple selections are allowed.
    • Brand: Enter the vehicle manufacturer or brand name to detect.
    • Model: Enter the vehicle model to detect.
  6. Under When, click Add event and select License plate detection.
  7. Click Select devices. Only devices that support license plate detection are displayed; select the desired device/channel.
  8. In the Select devices dialog, configure the following options, then click Select.
    • Number: Enter the license plate number to detect.
    • Country: Enter the country of the license plate.
    • State/Province: Enter the state or province of the license plate.
  9. Under Do, click Add action and choose the action to perform when the event occurs.
    • If you select Show notification, the license plate information and a snapshot appear in the notification panel when a vehicle or license plate detection event occurs. Click the notification to view full event details and video.
