Grouping devices

Group devices added to BLAZE. For example, if multiple cameras are installed in the same area such as the 1st-floor lobby or 2nd-floor corridor, group devices by area or location. Dragging the group to the Scene panel adds all cameras in the group, enabling quick monitoring of multiple cameras. Creating a group also enables adding or removing multiple cameras at once.
Note: Devices can be grouped only when you select > Tree mode > Logical.

To group devices

  1. Click Settings > Devices.
  2. Press and hold [Ctrl] or [Shift] and select multiple devices from the list of devices. Then, right-click the selected devices.
  3. Click Create group. The group icon will then be added to the list.
    • Shortcut keys can also be used: [Shift] + [G] or [Command] + [G].
  4. To rename a group, right-click the group icon and select Rename.
    • When a group is created, it is added as “New group”. Rename it to a descriptive name, such as a location or area, to make it easier to identify.
    • Group names can contain up to 64 characters, including letters, numbers, special characters, and spaces.
    • Groups in the device list can have the same name. However, it is recommended that you use distinct names to make them easier to identify.
Note: To move a device in a group to another group, drag it to the desired group. To move multiple devices, press and hold [Ctrl] or [Shift] and drag them to the desired group.
      • Move a group to another group by dragging it to the target group. All devices within the original group will be included in the new group.

Multiple devices can also be selected from the Devices panel in the View tab to create a device group. For more details on the Device panel, see View tab.

Configuring detailed settings of a group

Select a group of devices to apply the same settings to all cameras within that group. Click a group to set common settings, then configure settings in the tabs on the right. To configure settings separately for each device, click each device.
  • Changing the settings of a selected device group applies the same configuration to all cameras of the same model.
  • For different camera models, the settings will only bulk apply to features that are equally supported.
    • For example, if you select a group and select Highest resolution in Resolution, each camera’s resolution will be set to Highest.

To ungroup devices

Select the desired group, right-click it, and click Ungroup. Once ungrouped, the devices will be displayed in order by device name.
