Managing intercom calls

Make and receive intercom calls.

In the Timeline panel, click Volume to adjust the call volume or mute.

Receiving a call

When a visitor presses the intercom call button, a call notification appears in the Notification panel and a ringtone plays. You can also preview the intercom video in the Notification panel.

For intercom models that support Face zoom, you can configure the visitor's face to be enlarged when the video is opened from a video item or an event notification in the Notification panel.

Note: Intercom call notifications always appear at the top of the Notification panel, even when other events occur.

When an intercom call is received, the following options are available:

  • Take call: Click to start 2-way voice communication with the visitor. Click the video in the Notification panel to open it in the screen panel.
  • Reject call: Click to reject the call.
Note: Rejected calls are automatically recorded in the event log.
  • Open door: Click to remotely open the door.
  • Pause call: Click to pause the call. Click again to resume.
  • End call: Click to end the call.
  • Hold: If another call is received during an active call, accepting the new call automatically places the current call on hold.

Missed calls

If a call is not answered, a missed call notification appears in the Notification panel. Select the missed call notification to play the call video and identify the visitor.

Multiple calls

If a call is received from another intercom during an active call, a notification appears. If the active call video is displayed in the screen panel, an answer button appears on the video screen.

Accepting a new call automatically places the current call on hold. After ending a call, the call on hold can be resumed.

Starting a call

An operator can initiate a call to the intercom for 2-way communication. During a call, the microphone icon is active to indicate that audio is being transmitted.

In the intercom camera view, click (Speak through this device) to output sound through the intercom speaker.
