General

Configure general settings to apply to the system in BLAZE.
Note: Only users with Administrator privileges can modify general settings.

To configure general settings

  1. Click Settings > General.
  2. Configure the desired general options.
  3. Click Apply.

General settings options

  • Do not allow changes to camera settings outside of BLAZE: When enabled, BLAZE will ignore any changes to camera stream settings (e.g., resolution, bitrate, FPS) made from outside sources, such as the camera's webpage or another VMS. This ensures that the settings configured within BLAZE are always enforced.
    • This option applies to all items of the primary stream but does not apply to changes to WiseStream settings.
    Note: Changing camera settings in BLAZE will also update the settings on the camera webpage.
  • Limit user login session to maximum: When enabled, this setting automatically logs users out after a configured period of inactivity. The default duration is 30 days. When the session expires, the user is logged out, but any open work is automatically saved. To continue, the user must log in again.
    • This setting is managed by the server and applies to all connected clients simultaneously. For example, changing the session time to 30 minutes logs out all currently connected clients after 30 minutes.
  • Use biometric information for Similarity search: Configure the system to use biometric data, such as facial data, to improve the accuracy of Similarity search results on cameras that support the feature. When enabling this feature for the first time, you must consent to the use of biometric information. For more information, see Similarity search.
  • System time server: Set the system time server. When the system includes multiple servers in a cluster, time synchronization is required, and the system time server serves as the synchronization reference for all servers. For more information, see Configuring time in a multi-server environment.
  • Audit log retention: The default retention period is 90 days and can be configured from 1 to 999 days. Audit log records older than the configured period are automatically deleted.

Configuring ONVIF event settings

You can map unique event topics generated by devices that comply with the ONVIF standard to one of the events supported by BLAZE, allowing them to be used for monitoring and rule-based automation. Mapping settings are managed at the system level.

  • Mapped ONVIF events are treated the same as the corresponding BLAZE event across all BLAZE event-related features, including event notifications, recording, and rule actions. (For example, if the ONVIF event topic "tns:VideoAnalytics/Tampering" is mapped to the BLAZE "Tampering Detected" event, the occurrence of that topic is processed as a Tampering Detected event.)
  • Multiple different ONVIF event topics can be mapped to the same single BLAZE event.
  • Unmapped ONVIF events are neither received nor processed by BLAZE. Additionally, changing mapping settings does not retroactively apply to events that have already occurred.

Mapping ONVIF events

  1. Click Settings > General, then click ONVIF event settings.
  2. The ONVIF event settings window displays a deduplicated list of event topics supported by the ONVIF devices registered in the system.
    Note: Once an ONVIF event topic has been collected by the system, it remains in the list even if the device is deleted.
  3. For each ONVIF event topic, select the BLAZE event to associate with it from Mapping Target.
    • You can use the following features to easily search for events.
      • Search events: Enter a keyword to search for the desired event topic.
      • Filter events: Click the filter button at the top to filter the event list by a specific device, or check All Devices and Any event.
      • Sort: Click the Events (Topic) or Mapped to header to sort the list in ascending or descending order.
  4. After completing the mapping, click OK.

Event log

When a mapped ONVIF event occurs, the event is logged as follows.
  • Event name: The name of the mapped BLAZE event
  • Description: The original ONVIF event topic
Note:
  • Enabling or disabling individual events on ONVIF devices cannot be controlled.
  • Devices that do not comply with the ONVIF standard are not supported.

Import DesignPro profile

Import CCTV system settings designed in DesignPro into BLAZE and apply the configuration to registered cameras in bulk. This shortens initial setup time and improves consistency between the design and the actual environment.

Note: Before using this feature, physical cameras must already be registered on the BLAZE server and the DesignPro design must match the registered camera configuration. If no cameras are registered or the design does not match, the import cannot be performed.
  1. Click Settings > General > Import DesignPro profile.
  2. In the Import DesignPro profile dialog, click Browse and select the profile file downloaded from the DesignPro webpage, then click Next.
  3. On the comparison screen, verify the system and project names and device counts for BLAZE and the DesignPro file, then click Next to proceed to matching.
  4. Map the imported design information to actual devices by model.
    • Screen layout
      • BLAZE list: Displays information about cameras currently registered on the server (e.g., model, name, IP, thumbnail).
      • DesignPro settings: The list of device names and profile settings included in the design file.
    • Matching rules
      • Automatic matching: When model and quantity exactly match and a single DesignPro profile exists, matching is performed automatically.
      • Manual matching: When the model matches but quantities differ, or multiple DesignPro profiles exist, manual selection is required.
      • Exclude from matching: If the model does not match, the profile cannot be applied.
      Note: Matching simulation results are reflected on the screen in real time. DesignPro device quantities do not need to match exactly with BLAZE device quantities to perform matching (e.g., 5 design items can be mapped to 3 or 7 actual devices).
  5. Click Apply profiles to validate compatibility and send settings to physical devices.
    Note:
    • If you cancel during application, settings already applied to devices remain, and only pending devices are canceled.
    • If applying to a specific camera fails, the failure is recorded and the process continues for other valid devices.
    • If a severe error occurs (e.g., process hang, no response, etc.), the operation result and the IP of the affected device are displayed.
  6. When the application is complete, a summary dialog appears. Click Finish.

Reindex archive

When a mismatch is detected between the index file and the actual stored data during video playback, a notification is displayed, allowing direct access to the reindexing menu for recorded video from the notification.

Note:
  • Reindexing is only accessible to authorized users.

To reindex archives

  1. Click Settings > General.
  2. Click Reindex archive. A warning message is displayed, indicating technical limitations such as possible data loss and performance degradation.
  3. If needed, select the Limit to selected time range checkbox, then enter the period (start date/time, end date/time) for which the index will be rebuilt.
  4. Click Start reindex archive.
    • Once reindexing begins, the progress (progress bar, percentage, status message, etc.) is displayed on the screen in real time.
    • You can click Cancel at any time during reindexing to stop the process, and only the results processed up to the point of cancellation are displayed.
Note:
  • If the recorded video includes video files from multiple systems, those files are not processed. This feature applies only to the currently operating system.

Checking reindex results

After the reindexing operation (completed or canceled), a detailed result report is displayed. This allows you to clearly identify the final result of the recovery operation.

The report includes the following information.

  • Reindexed period: The search period configured by the user or specified by the system
  • Final status: Displayed as Completed if all channel scans were processed successfully, Canceled by user if the process was stopped by the user before completion, or Canceled by server if drive usage increased during reindexing
  • Channel statistics: A summary of the total number of channels included, the number of channels scanned, and the number of channels to which reindexing was successfully applied
  • Device list: A list of names and IP addresses of the cameras to which reindexing was applied
