Timeline panel

In the Timeline panel, play the video of the selected device and use various functions while playing.

Understanding timeline features

The timeline features used for playing recorded video are described below.

❶	Zoom in or out on the timeline	Zoom in or out on the timeline to adjust the time display scale. Adjust the time display scale on the timeline by scrolling the mouse wheel.
❷	Adjust the volume	Adjust the audio volume of the video.
❸	Adjust the playback speed	Choose from available options to adjust the playback speed of the video. Forward playback speeds: 0.25x, 0.5x, 1x. 1.5x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x Reverse playback speed: -0.25x, -0.5x, -1x. -1.5x, -2x, -4x, -8x, -16x Select the speed from the dropdown list or set it with a slider.
❹	Control the playback	Play or pause the video. Navigate to the previous event/next event while playing a video. Navigate to the previous event/next event, or to the previous frame/next frame while the video is paused.
❺	Display the histogram	Show or hide a histogram of the Objects, Motion, and Events occurrence frequency on the timeline.
❻	Search thumbnails	Show or hide thumbnails of the currently playing video. Display thumbnails by evenly dividing the timeline display range.
❼	Search time	Select the date and time to search for the video. Choose the date from the Calendar panel and enter the time directly. Dates with recorded videos are indicated by a green line.
❽	Synchronize and play videos	Synchronize and play videos from multiple devices at the same time. Only videos from devices with recorded footage will play, and devices without recorded footage at the synchronized time will display “NO DATA” on the video file item.
❾	Choose Live mode	Switch to Live mode for real-time monitoring.
❿	Section display bar	Indicates the current playback position of the video. If there is recorded video, a section display bar in green will appear. Select a specific point on the timeline to play the video from that point; keyframes displaying time data will appear. Drag the keyframes to change the playback position. No recordings available: If there is no recording video, it will be displayed in dark gray. Archive: If there is a recording video, it will be displayed in lime green. Generic event: Sections where events are recorded based on set event rules will be displayed in white. Objects: Sections where objects are recorded will be displayed in yellow. Motion: Sections where motion events are recorded will be displayed in red. Bookmarks: A bookmark icon will be displayed at the start point of a bookmark. Timeline sections with bookmarks are displayed in blue, and a bookmark icon is shown at the starting point.
