Audio settings

Configure the camera's audio input and output settings in BLAZE. When audio input is enabled, audio is audible during video monitoring. When audio output is enabled, audio plays through the camera's speaker.

Note: The I/O settings tab is shown only when a camera that supports microphone and speaker functions for audio input and output is connected. The available input/output detailed settings may vary depending on the camera specifications.

To set the device's audio input and output

  1. Click Settings > Devices.
  2. On the device settings page, select the camera you want from the device list.
  3. In the device settings panel, click the Audio tab.
  4. Configure the audio input and output.
  5. When finished, click Apply.

Audio input settings

Configure the camera's audio input options. To configure audio input, set the toggle to on. If the audio input feature is not enabled, the detailed settings screen will not be displayed.
  • Source: select the audio input source.
    • Line: receive audio by connecting an audio device with a cable. (e.g., connecting an MP3 player to the camera with a cable allows the recorded audio to be output through the camera.)
    • Internal microphone: receive audio using the camera's internal microphone.
    • External microphone: receive audio using an external microphone connected to the camera. If you select provide power to external microphone, the camera supplies power to the external microphone when it is not provided.
  • Codec: select the audio codec used to store audio when monitoring live video or recording. G.711u and G.726 codecs are suitable for recording at voice-call quality, while AAC can be used for high-quality audio or video streaming. (Supported codec types may vary by device.)
  • Sampling rate: the rate at which audio samples are taken per second. A higher value improves audio quality but increases file size.
  • Bit rate: the amount of audio data processed per second. A higher value improves audio quality but increases file size. Available settings depend on the selected codec.
  • Gain: set the input level for incoming audio. A higher value increases the input volume.
  • Noise reduction: if you select enable, set how much noise in the incoming audio is reduced.

Audio output settings
