Configuring network settings

Configure the network settings of the selected server. Set the IP address, subnet mask, gateway, DNS, and other network parameters appropriate for your environment. Enable or disable the DHCP server for each network port.
Note:
  • The Network tab is available only on BLAZE appliances.
  • Configuration changes can only be made from the appliance's local client.

To configure the server's network

  1. Click Settings > Servers.
  2. In the Server settings page, select the desired server from the server list.
  3. In the Server settings panel, click the Network tab.
  4. Configure the server's IP and port information, and DHCP server settings.
  5. When finished, click Apply.

Network settings

View and modify the current settings for Network 1 and Network 2.

Changes to network settings are applied immediately and reflected in the system without requiring re-login.

To configure the network

  1. Click the IP & port tab.
  2. In Network 1 or Network 2, click Network settings, then configure the following items and click Apply.
    • IP assignment: Choose between Manual and DHCP. The default is Manual.
    • IP address: Set the IP address for each network port.
      • 128.0.0.100 and 128.0.0.101 are reserved for special purposes under RFC 5735 and cannot be used.
    • Subnet mask: Set the subnet mask.
    • Gateway: Set the gateway address.
    • DNS: Set DNS1 and DNS2 addresses.
  3. Set the port number in Port.
    • Port numbers must be between 1024 and 65535.
    • 61000 cannot be used.
  4. In Default gateway, select either Network 1 or Network 2. The gateway address specified in the selected network will be used as the default gateway.
Note:
  • Changing the server's IP address or port in a cluster system may temporarily disrupt connections to other servers.
  • Changes to network settings are recorded in the audit log.

DHCP server settings

Configure the BLAZE appliance as a DHCP server to automatically assign IP addresses to connected cameras. This setting can be configured individually for each network port.

Viewing assigned IP address list

The BLAZE appliance displays a list of IP addresses assigned to DHCP clients.

  • Click DHCP assignment list to view clients that have received IP addresses from the DHCP server. The list shows the IP address, MAC address, and the network port through which the IP was assigned.
  • Click Refresh to update the list with the latest assignment information.
  • Enter text in the search bar to filter clients by matching information. If no text is entered, all clients are displayed.
Note:
  • Clients with expired IP lease times are automatically removed from the list.
  • Only clients connected to ports with a network status of Up (physically connected and actively communicating) are displayed.

To configure DHCP settings

  1. In the DHCP server tab, toggle the switch for Network 1 or Network 2 to enable it.
  2. Click Network settings, then configure the following:
    • Internal IP address: Automatically assigned within the configured address range.
    • Subnet mask: Automatically populated from the IP settings.
    • Dynamic IP address range: Set the range of IP addresses to assign to DHCP clients.
    • Lease time: Set the lease time for IP addresses.
      • Valid range: 1 hour (3,600 seconds) to 48 hours (172,800 seconds). The default is 86,400 seconds.
  3. Click OK.
