Configuring PoE settings

PoE (Power over Ethernet) delivers power directly to devices through the network cable, without requiring a separate power source. Administrators can configure and monitor power delivery for each port.
Note: PoE configuration is supported only on BLAZE Appliances.

PoE status monitoring and configuration

View the appliance's total power capacity and current consumption, and view information for each port and change settings. Click Apply to save changes.

  • On/Off: Enables or disables PoE power delivery for each port. The default is On.
  • Port: Displays the port number.
  • Device: Displays information about the device connected to the port. (If the device is registered in BLAZE, the device name and IP are shown.)
  • Consumption: Displays the power consumption of the port. Hover to see current usage and total capacity.
  • Status: Indicates the current status of the port.
    • OK/Disconnected: Indicates the connection status of the device.
    • Loop blocked: Indicates that a network loop has been detected and the port has been blocked. (If two ports are connected to form a loop, a port is automatically blocked.)
    • Overpowered: Indicates a power overload condition. An alert is triggered if the supplied power exceeds the allowable limit. If the total allowable power is exceeded, a port is automatically disabled.
    • External power: Indicates that the connected device is using an external power source.
