Alarm I/O settings
Configure and control alarm input and output ports for devices registered in BLAZE. Use this feature to centrally manage sensors and alarm devices connected to cameras.
The number of supported alarm I/O ports varies by device model and by the specifications of a connected I/O box. BLAZE displays the I/O list according to the port configuration supported by the device.
To configure alarm I/O
- Click Settings > Devices.
- Select the camera from the device list on the Device settings page.
- Click the Alarm I/O tab in the Device settings panel.
- Configure alarm inputs and outputs. The number of I/O ports depends on the device.
- I/O mode: Select whether to use the port as an input or an output. After selecting a mode, configure the settings for each alarm I/O.
- When Input is selected:
- Name: Set a name. By default, the name is "{Model name} Input #{Number}". Up to 64 characters can be entered. The name appears in the Alarm I/O panel on the View screen.
- Icon: Choose an icon to display in the Alarm I/O panel on the View screen.
- Type: Select the alarm input method.
- Normal open: The sensor is open by default. When it closes, the system registers an alarm input event.
- Normal close: The sensor is closed by default. When it opens, the system registers an alarm input event.
- When Output is selected:
- Name: Set a name. By default, the name is "{Model name} Output #{Number}". Up to 64 characters can be entered. The name appears in the Alarm I/O output list on the View screen and in the audit log.
- Icon: Choose an icon to display in the Alarm I/O panel on the View screen.
- Type: Select the alarm output method.
- Normal open: The output is open by default. When it closes, the system registers an alarm output event.
- Normal close: The output is closed by default. When it opens, the system registers an alarm output event.
- Mode: Set the control method for the alarm output.
- Pulse: The alarm outputs for the duration set in Duration, then turns off automatically.
- Active/inactive: Activating the alarm output from the live view keeps it active until manually deactivated. In this mode, Duration is set to Always and cannot be changed.
- Duration: When Mode is set to Pulse, set the alarm output duration.
- When Input is selected:
- I/O mode: Select whether to use the port as an input or an output. After selecting a mode, configure the settings for each alarm I/O.
- Click Apply to save changes.
Manual alarm output control
Activate or deactivate alarm output from the device tree in View mode.

Event rule integration
Use alarm input and alarm output as triggers and actions in event rules. For example, create a rule that activates a siren (alarm output) when a door opens (alarm input). For more information, see Rules.
Status monitoring
Check Alarm I/O status in real time. For more information, see Alarm I/O overview.
