Configuring objects settings
Set and manage which areas to exclude from detecting faces, persons, vehicles, and license plates. All objects (Face, Person, Vehicle, License plate) are set to be detected by default. Deselect any object type if needed. When the selection of a specific object is canceled, the settings will be applied to the Recording settings, meaning that the object type will not be recorded even if events occur. When setting event rules, objects that have been excluded from detection in the event conditions are indicated with
icon.
Note:
Object detection is only available on AI cameras.
To configure the camera’s object
- Click Settings > Devices.
- In the Devices settings page, select the desired camera from the list of devices.
- In the Device settings panel, click the Object tab.
- Set object types, sensitivity, and minimum duration.
- To modify the excluding areas, click Edit excluding areas.
- Once configuration is complete, click Apply.
Configuring object detection
Set the sensitivity level and minimum duration for object detection.
- Object types: Select the type of object to detect. Multiple object types can be selected.
- Similarity search: Enable Similarity search to track people who are similar to previously searched individuals by using the similar person search feature. Note: This option is available only on cameras that support Similarity search. To use biometric data, such as facial data, to improve the accuracy of similarity search results, select Use biometric information for Similarity search in Settings > General.
- Sensitivity: Set the sensitivity level used to distinguish detected objects from the background in the detection area. Set a value between 1 and 100.
- Minimum duration (sec): Set the minimum duration required to detect an object event condition. Set a value between 0 and 5 seconds.
BestShot
BestShot analyzes detected object data and generates a thumbnail image of the most reliable detection result.
- Object types: Select the object type for which BestShot images will be generated.
- Sensitivity: Set the object detection sensitivity.
DetectionShot
DetectionShot analyzes detected object data and generates a full image at the most reliable detection moment.
- Object types: Select the object type for which DetectionShot images will be generated.
- Sensitivity: Set the object detection sensitivity.
Configuring excluding areas
Add areas to exclude from object detection. Events will not be triggered in excluding areas even if object event conditions are met.
Click Edit excluding areas, then in the settings dialog window, click Add excluding area and drag on the preview screen to define the area. Excluding areas are numbered in the order of addition, and up to 8 areas can be configured.
To delete an excluding area, select the desired area from the preview screen or list, then click Delete area.
Note:
- Even if event rules are configured, events will not be triggered within the defined excluding areas. These areas are applied to the configured event rules.
- Excluding areas edited in the Objects tab are synced with the excluding area settings in the IVA tab.
